Week 5 | Happy Halloween! now...Can we celebrate Christmas already?!
Is it Christmas already?
We’ve all seen the meme of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother popping up on Halloween Night: “And then the clock struck midnight and Halloween Turned into Christmas.” I’m here for it. Tim Burton gave us all his sealed approval that Halloween and Christmas don’t have to be mutually exclusive, so I mean… technically we’re late to the game if we aren’t already getting festive in a visual sense. I don’t know about you all, but this all puts me in the best mood and most joyful state of mind. It reminds me of the days before the world was so chaotic, and everyone just celebrated one day in Disneyland between October and December to celebrate the Holiday Season as a whole like real grown-ups. I mean, really, what better way than visiting the happiest place on earth to commemorate the entire months of October, November, and December to “The Holiday Season”? Makes me want to bake and throw on “Hocus Pocus” or “Edward Scissorhands” for background noise, light all of my pumpkin candles, and make gingerbread cookies.
So this is it for all of us… The question that will dictate the next two months of our lives… if you haven’t already: Do we put the tree up, or do we not put the tree up? I think outdoor Christmas light are totally appropriate as early as November first, then slowly bring out the Christmas clutter? And for the record, Starbucks, Target, and Costco… especially Costco with their blasted pumpkin pies… are very bad examples…
SO… what are you guys doing? Are you doing the salon earlier to scratch that itch? Or is the force strong in you and you’re able to wait until December to celebrate with Christmas décor? Help me before I put me Christmas Tree up next week!! Hahah
Either way, Hobby Lobby and Disneyland Commercials are absolutely not helping.
Happy Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas to all who celebrate.
XO
Jena
